I told Qwest to cut off our DSL on Oct. 31, but it looks like they cut it off 9 days earlier. The blinkenlight on our DSL modem has been, well, blinking ever since about this time yesterday. And of course their Customer Disservice line isn't open on Sundays, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to yell at them. Grrr.
At this moment I am online by the grace of Jeff's friends, Charlie and Quinn. Jeff came over to work dark magic on Charlie's wireless network connection (which was refusing to work), and I came to leech bandwidth. I'm going home in a few minutes; I might not be online again for a couple of days. *sigh*
Update 24 Oct: Never mind. I called Qwest and complained at them, and they said my DSL was still set to be disconnected next Monday. The DSL tech asked if we'd had a power outage (we'd had a very tiny one) and had me power-cycle the modem. It came back online immediately.
Boy, do I feel stupid.
