If I said that this week at work was interesting
and that we put in long hours,
that would be an understatement almost as massive as Dubya allowing that we're having a couple of problems in Iraq.
I'm not sure how much I can say about it on a public blog, though. We went live with circulation on Thursday, and that went neither as well as it could have nor as badly as it could have. In a way, that's what we expected.
I sent Dorothea an email saying our new OPAC was up, and she said she liked it (at least at first glance). That's good, because our Web Services Librarian worked hard on that thing for months. It's nice to know her efforts weren't wasted...
Oddly enough, as hard as this week was, I had a lot of positive feedback from both patrons and staff, which really made my day every time. On Monday a branch staff member praised and thanked me for an informational email I had sent out. On Wednesday I helped a patron retrieve his booklists from iPac, and not only did he send a thank-you email, on Friday I got a snail-mail card from him. I pinned it on the wall of my cube, on the wall behind my computer so I can look at it all the time.
