On the way back from the grocery store this evening, I stalled the car several times in the left turn lane at one intersection. I couldn't manage to get going during that light cycle, so I motioned for the cars behind me to go around. Just as the light turned red, a Toyota pickup pulled around and in front of me, and I assumed he was just being a typical stupid Seattle driver, trying to get 2 inches ahead.
But then he got out of the truck and walked towards us, so I rolled down the window. Can I tow you anywhere?
he offered. I told him, slightly embarrassed, No, it's okay, I'm just learning manual transmission.
He threw back his head, laughed, slapped the windshield three times, and walked back to his car.
That dude is great. Shame on me for underestimating him.
