Yesterday was a good day, because the two small but important meetings that I had initiated (and led) were effective in accomplishing their purpose, which was for the Inter-Library Loan manager (in the one meeting) and the Acquisitions and Cataloging managers (in the other) to understand what they're going to be doing during a certain period of the migration. It happens that I know certain information which was useful for them (I know what bits of data have to be where in order for circulation data to migrate), but the meetings really belonged to them.
It's hard to explain why I'm so happy about those meetings. I initiated them, I led them, so it's due to my actions that they were effective. It's a first in my short career
at KCLS; I've gone to plenty of meetings, of course, but I've never initiated anything more than a one-on-one.
And then, there's also the simple knowledge that I've accomplished something and that KCLS will work a little better because of me, which is a great feeling no matter how it happens.
