Lucky day

I didn't bother going to 580 today, and I didn't get around to checking my email until just now either. (I was too busy fiddling with my templates. Check out the sidebar!)

It turns out that it's a good thing I didn't bother going to class, because class was cancelled!

The sidebar looks much better from here (in Safari). Thanks.

I'm glad you like it. One of the things I was trying to do was to move the links that people were most likely to use closer to the top of the page and to group the sections in a logical manner. Did I succeed? (Naturally, everyone is welcome to answer this question.)

pjm says:

Well, before in Safari, the whole sidebar was down at the bottom corner, under the main content boxes, and the links were dark blue or purple on a brown background. Now they're up at the top and visible colors. I don't know about the organization (not my area) but the CSS changes are a smashing success! (Now, if only I could get around to overhauling my site instead of critiquing others...)

I like the comment spell-check. It's, uh, whimsical. Sometimes.

Laurabelle says:

Oh. Hmm. That's not where the sidebar was supposed to be, obviously. It was supposed to be a side-bar, not a bottom-bar. I didn't know that was happening! The only thing I can think of that would have fixed that was that I split my CSS into multiple pages (general layout, print, screen, and colors), but why that would do it, I don't know. Or maybe something in my HTML was too wide, but that's strange too. Oh well.

I hope it doesn't break again, because I would have no clue how to fix it. ;-)

As for the spell-check, yeah, I know it's not always as useful as it could be. It's British spelling, for one thing (because the server belongs to my English ex-boyfriend), and it doesn't know a lot of words that I would like to teach it.

I really like how you've incorporated and enhanced the threaded comments -- using MT-threaded-comments or something else? I've not been able to master that for my course blog, but if I get a chance to work on it this summer, I'll definitely learn by example!
