Plug it in

Wed, 7 Jan 2004

I should have been working this morning and last night, but instead I played with my Movable Type templates and plugins. Now the sidebar of my main index page includes a list of active plugins. In addition, that list includes a couple of plugins that would not have been there last weekend, most notably OnThisDay, which outputs information about posts on this day from the past years, and a bayesian spam filter.

I have also been playing with the results of the W3CValidator plugin, which adds the capacity of outputting Valid HTML icons or text only if the page is actually valid. Since I had been reluctant to advertise validation for this very reason, I was pleased that someone else had solved my problem, and I installed it. To my chagrin, several of my pages were invalid! I have too many pages at this point for me to check all of them, but at least from this point forward, I will be able to verify both the well-formedness and the validity of every entry I make, merely by loading the front page of my blog.
