I apologize that I haven't written in my blog quite as much as I have wished in the last few days. I have been quite a bit busy! To prove it, my schedule for today and the next couple of days:
- Wednesday, 29 January
- 6:45 — wake up
- 7:45-8:25 — commute to UW
- 8:30-9:50 — lecture (Preservation and Conservation of Library Materials)
- 10:00-11:30 — run around selling last raffle tickets
- 11:30-12:25 — run around looking for good old-fashioned overhead projector in PowerPoint Land
- 12:30-12:55 — raffle drawing
- 13:00-14:20 — lecture (Information Systems, Architectures and Retrieval)
- 14:30-16:20 — lab (SQL queries, yay)
- 16:30-17:00 — information session on directed fieldwork
- 17:00-17:55 — commute home from UW
- 18:15 — dinner
- 19:00 — call father to talk about MHC alumnae fellowship applications, profess tiredness and sickness and agree to call back on weekend
- 20:00 — leave rice cooking and start writing blog entry; thirty minutes later, find it burned to a crisp
- 21:00 — bed, I hope
- Thursday, 30 January
- 10:00 — meet with professor and partner to discuss team project
- 10:30-12:20 — class (Organization of Information and Resources)
- 12:30 — meet with aforementioned partner
- 15:00-17:00 — colloquium-thingy on making web design teams work
- 18:00 — UW LUG meeting
I think it's not actually the amount of my time that's filled which I find most distressing, it's the sheer number of separate projects I have to keep track of, many of which aren't in my calendar for these two days but nevertheless are taking up brain space.
