As you see, the front page is pretty much done, though I'm having much trouble with spacing in the bar on the left. For some reason there are humongous vertical spaces. If anyone wants to look at the CSS, the style sheet is called brown.css. I'm befuddled, but maybe I've just looked at it for too long. I hate it when I'm getting close to perfection, and then some formerly docile element of the page suddenly decides to go bonkers.
Anyway, the annoying IE bug is now avoided. (I'm really surprised that MT put out a default style sheet that breaks like that in a major browser, actually. I guess they expect people to change it, but still.)
And if you notice, the layout bears a certain resemblance to Aquarion's page. I would prefer him to think of this as imitation (and thus flattery) rather than ripping-off, especially since I didn't actually steal any code.
I have not yet made any changes to the archive or comment templates. I'm waiting to finalize the design on this page.
Aquarion says:
I think the missing magic is:
div#links h4 { margin: 0 0 0 0; }
Also, I'm not sure about your use of H4 for the links there, since you don't actually use H3 for anything, it misses a semantic header out... but that's nitpicking :)
Laurabelle says:
But indeed, sir Aquarion, your very name is verily enclosed in H3.
And the magic does shift the H4, but not in the direction I want! It seems there is some rebelliousness to the UL.
