It looks like serial novels are back, only this time it's by email. I am reminded of reading Great Expectations in junior high and learning that it was initially published chapter by chapter in a newspaper. I'm not so sure how this would work with a novel that wasn't written for that purpose; however, as a tactic to get people to check out books in the library, it might work. I probably wouldn't use it, but then again, I already use libraries quite a lot.
